A forest on the outskirts of Minsk, Belarus. This beautiful forest is home to the mass grave of over 200,000 individuals who were killed from 1937-1941. These killings occurred during the "Great Purge" of the Soviet regime. The grave was only discovered in 1988. The victims are still largely unknown. The site of the Kurpaty monument lies indistinct, near an underpass by the local highway.
